I almost fainted with fatigue and exhaustion climbing up the 300 somewhat-odd steps to get to the beautiful view. of the city. The steps were not your usual steps, they were  abnormal wide steps made for elephants and horses to carry royalty.  I went through many internal and external arguments with myself and others as to why I shouldn’t go up these stairs.  It’s not that I am in bad physical condition, I would say I am pretty mediocre, but it was HOT that day, there was no water to be found and I was wearing a black shirt (what was I thinking? I couldn’t tell you).

I am SO glad I forced myself to take breaks and make it all the way to the top.  It was nothing like what I’ve seen before.

Lately, I’ve been pushing myself to do things that I normally would not or would want to give up on in the first few mins.  Let me tell you, it feels GREAT to push myself.  I feel like I’ve won a gold medal in the Olympics or something. I hope I can continue this trend.

Such splendor..

I’ve always loved travelling.

It might be because I like change, or because it feeds my curiosity or because I feel like I am most present when I am away from my regular routine. Whatever the reason may be, travelling has added so much value and has taught me to rely on myself and force myself to be uncomfortable.

During this trip to Hyderabad, India, I was mesmerized with the beautiful palaces and the lifestyle of the past.  Sometimes I wonder if I would have been a happy and fulfilled individual, if I lived in the 16th or 17th century. Who knows? I love the Internets way too much to really want to live way back when. it didn’t exist.
